TGIF

So today is friday, I had to write about today because I didn't really want to take pictures where we were going.
Sandrine is one of the girls at the orphanage, she is 6. They just saved her from her her own village basically. She was treated awfully. She had chiggers all over her body; her knees, feet, hands. The doctors went in with a razor blade and cut them out. This was about 4 months ago. So now she has this tragic fear of hospitals and doctors.
Since, she had all of this in her body her village just let her crawl for the first 5 years of her life. Since she got them taken out she is now walking but with crippled legs. In 3 months she is walking on her own, already that is a miracle.
So today we took her to a disable hospital. We got her diagnosed, and fitted for leg braces to straighten her legs. With in the year her legs should be straightened and I have faith and believe that it will be sooner. She is so strong and stubborn that it will be sooner. She hadn't walked her whole life and is walking on her own in 3 months, already so amazing.
It was really hard to see her in the hospital though. Since she has such a fear she was not herself at all. Typically she is so happy and giggly, but today she was depressed and when the doctor was taking measurements for her braces she was screaming, "Don't let them cut me!".
It was kind of bone chilling for me.
